Even with cranes, helicopters, tractors and trucks at our disposal, it would be tough to construct the Great Pyramid of Giza today. Its construction 4,500 years ago is so astounding in some people's eyes that they invoke mystical or even alien involvement.
If we were to build the Great Pyramid today, how much would it cost to do so based on the original plan ?
Even with access to the latest construction vehicles, building the pyramid would still be a huge undertaking. Thought to have taken as long as 20 years to construct 4,500 years ago, even with modern technology it could still cost as much as $5 billion to build. The original workers are thought to have used a ramp system to put one block in to place every five minutes of its two decade build time.
