A dive team are to venture in to the depths of the Baltic Sea to investigate a mysterious object.
Known as the "Baltic Anomaly", the 200-foot wide object on the Baltic sea floor was discovered last year by Swedish researchers Peter Lindberg and Dennis Asberg while on a treasure hunt. With the nature of the object still a mystery, a team of divers and engineers plan to return from June 1st for a six-day trip in an effort to reach the anomaly and identify what it could be.
"We don’t know whether it is a natural phenomenon, or an object," said Peter Lindberg. "We saw it on sonar when we were searching for a wreck from World War I. This circular object just turned up on the monitor."
