The unnerving photo obtained by the Galway Independent clearly shows a distinct ghostly female figure and speculation has been rife since the photo emerged as to whether this is simply a optical illusion or a representation from beyond the grave.
Jonathan Curran captured something unusual in a photograph at The Long Walk in Galway, Ireland.
The local photographer had taken 13 shots of the area when he noticed what appeared to be a 19th century Claddagh nun looking straight at the camera in one of the pictures. "The image was not visible either before or after the photograph was taken and was not captured in any of the other photographs," he said. "There were other people on the Long Walk that day, but they seemed oblivious to her presence."
